Flying start to the week….✈️

We were recently contracted in to assist with a full contract lift package to remove the famous Catalina from the Loch Ness utilising our GMK5150L for vital repairs to be carried out before going back into the water.

The Consolidated PBY Catalina is a flying boat and amphibious aircraft that was produced in the 1930s and 1940s. In Canadian service it was known as the Canso. It was one of the most widely used seaplanes of World War II. Catalinas served with every branch of the United States Armed Forces and in the air forces and navies of many other nations. The last military PBYs served until the 1980s and we feel very privileged to be involved with the lifting of the last one in the UK!

We were recently contracted to complete the challenging task of installing a new water treatment plant on the Fair Isles.

The interesting twist on this job was getting onto the Island due to no ferries or linkplan/slipway.

Between the skilled teams at Stoddart Crane Hire, RSE and GF JOB, it was decided to access the Island via barge where the cranes and transport would drive off onto the small harbour area and continue to site.

This job was undertaken with the use of our Tadano ATF130G-5 & AC100-4L

The units left Muir Of Ord from RSE main facilities up to Orkney where we loaded the barge up before setting off into the open sea for the 65 mile journey to the Fair Isles

Another logistical challenging job in another stunning part of the country for our Grove GMK5250L.

We were contracted in to supply a full Contract Lift service to install a 24 tonne unit to a 22m radius.

We supplied a complete package including haulage delivering the 3.8m wide unit from our storage facilities in Muir of Ord to the Isle Of Uist supported with Escort Vehicles.
